As you may know, JD Interior Solutions have vast experience in shop fittings and refurbishments. Recently we completed and project managed our first Vape Lounge in Cambridgeshire.

Over the last three years we have been working closely with our client and throughout these years have worked in partnership with their expansion plans; from shop fittings, all over the UK to Vape Lounges. When JD Interiors were informed about the new plans for Vape Lounges, we got very excited! The Vape Lounge acts as a social station for all vapers, offering an array of refreshments such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and cake! Most importantly, a place to purchase and try out new vaping liquids!

We love a new challenge at JD Interior Solutions and with our experience in Hotel refurbishments, restaurant refurbishment and shop fittings we were the ideal candidates to take on the task. The results are phenomenal. Working alongside their design team, our client and our talented tradesmen, we together completed their first every vape lounge. Retro, Sleek and Modern!

When helping clients through the journey of a refurbishment there are many elements to consider. For the Vape Lounge fundamentally, it was vital to get the ergonomics of the coffee/tea bar and retail right! In coffee/tea shop, ergonomics play a key factor, it needs to be functional, layout is key. It also needs to be welcoming and attractive.

We thought it would be useful to compile a list of the top 5 things a coffee/tea shop should have for you to consider:

1)       Great tasting tea and coffee – fresh roasting, grinding coffee, no instant coffee. Great tasting tea!

2)    The Right Equipment

You need equipment that can allow for volume. When it comes to espresso machines, it’s best not to skimp. A world class chef needs a range that can keep up with them, right?  A great barista needs the same.

      3)    Design and Connectivity: Comfy, Cozy Furniture

Stay and work or grab and go—whatever vibe you feel your coffee shop needs, your furniture will dictate that to your customers. Standard tables and chairs say “order your coffee to go!”  Comfortable couches say “stay for a while, relax enjoy another cup”. Another thing to consider is electrical sockets, there’s nothing worse than not being able to charge your phone or laptop!

        4) Environment

What do you envisage when you think of your coffee/tea shop? Do you want a modern, young feel? Or do you want something more warm and inviting? These are questions must be answered before you open your coffee shop’s doors. Figure out what ambiance you want to set.  The ambiance will set the tone and can attract certain cliental.

If you are looking to open a coffee/tea shop and would like our professional advice on the refurbishment and design, we would be more than happy to help.
